Traffic Unit
The Layton Police Department Traffic Unit is tasked to enhance public safety through enforcement of traffic laws and investigation
of factors leading to traffic accident. The unit consists of motor officers, a Commercial Vehicle Safety Inspector, and a dedicated
DUI Enforcement officer. Officers in the Traffic Unit work a variety of shifts that coincide with the workload they are performing.
All officers assigned to the unit have specialized training in traffic accident investigations, as well as additional training based
on their specific assignment.
Traffic School
Deferred Traffic Prosecution: You case may qualify for Deferred Traffic Prosecution with the Court. Information about Deferred Traffic Prosecution

A Plea in Abeyance Agreement must be signed in order to be eligible to attend traffic school.
Registration and Payment

Watch Course and Pass Quiz
- Watch: You must watch the entire instructional video.
- Pass the Quiz: You must successfully pass the short quiz at the end.
- Confirmation: Once the course has been passed, the Legal Department will receive a confirmation email and you will receive credit for attending traffic school.
Complete Within 30 Days
- You have 30 days from the date you signed your Plea in Abeyance to finish this course.

Code Enforcement
The Code Enforcement Unit consists of three Code Enforcement Officers and a supervisor. The unit works Monday through Friday.
The hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. To report violations call
