• All Layton residents are welcome.
• Youth participation is highly encouraged (K-12 and college)
• Group submissions (classes, clubs, families) are permitted.

Letters may include:

• Hopes or predictions for America in 2076
• Reflections on American values, community, or personal heritage
• Reflections on our freedoms; What America means to you
• Message to the youth who will read it decades from now
• Artwork or illustrations (optional and must be original)

Please Avoid:

• Political endorsements or campaigning
• Profanity, explicit content, or discriminatory language
• Defamatory statements
• Commercial messages or advertising

All submissions should be respectful, family-appropriate, and aligned with the project's spirit of unity and reflection.

• Length: Up to 1 page (8.5" x 11")
• Handwritten or typed letters are accepted
• If including artwork, it must fit within the same 1-page limit
• Include the participant's name, age, and optional grade/school
• Optional: A brief author bio (1-2 sentences)

A selection committee will choose submissions for publication based on:

• Thoughtfulness
• Creativity
• Relevance to the theme
• Readability and appropriateness

Not all letters will be published, but all letters meeting the spirit of the message will be sealed inside the Time Capsule.
