Amber Alert Test - Utah Department of Public Safety

The Utah Department of Public Safety's Bureau of Criminal Identification will conduct a statewide TEST of the AMBER Alert system on Thursday, April 3, between 4:00 and 4:30 PM. This test is part of an upgrade to align the system with modern national standards and verify its integration with FEMA's Emergency Alert System.

Heritage Museum of Layton Spring Fling

The Heritage Museum of Layton is hosting an event celebrating the opening of three exhibits on March 27th, 2025.  The event runs from 6-8pm.  Please join us as we explore farming in Layton through From Harvest to Home, showcase miniatures and other tiny artifacts in Teeny Tiny Exhibit, and celebrate the achievements of the Shoreline Jr. High 8th Grade History Classes in their Women's History Month exhibition.  There will be light refreshments.  Contact Josie Newbold at the

 

Woods Cross Quiet Zone Reinstatement

The Federal Railroad Admiration (FRA) has granted approval of the joint waiver application for the North Salt Lake Main Street and Salt Lake city 1000 W railroad crossings.  This waiver will allow the for the reinstatement of the Woods Cross Quiet Zone.  The railroads typically have seven days to comply with the FRA directive to stop sounding the horns.

 

Secondary Water Turn On

Secondary water service will be activated no later than April 15, 2025. To prevent potential issues, please make sure that main line valves are turned off, filters are cleaned, and any necessary repairs are completed by April 1.
