Layton City is Accepting Letters of Interest for the Following Commissions:

Parks and Recreation Commission
Layton City is currently accepting applications to fill a vacant position on the Layton City Recreation, Arts, Museum and Parks (RAMP) Commission, as well as the Parks and Recreation Commission. These Commissions function as planning and advisory bodies for the City Council in matters pertaining to the expenditure of the RAMP tax revenue, and matters pertaining to Parks and Recreation within the City.
The RAMP Commission consists of nine members with four standing members and five at large members. RAMP Commission members advertise for, collect, and review RAMP grant applications. These applications are to fund City owned recreation, arts, museum and parks facilities, and improvements to existing facilities. Grants will also fund recreation, art, museum and park programs that benefit the residents of Layton and are developed by public or private non-profit organizations, as such terms are defined in State law. Once the Commission has reviewed all applications the Commission shall prioritize all grant applications and make a yearly recommendation to the City Council.
The Parks and Recreation Commission consists of eight at large members. This Commission is specifically tasked with advising the City Council and the Parks and Recreation Department with long range planning for Layton City parks, recreation, trails, open space, and cultural facilities within the City. This Commission also reviews current recreation programs and City events to provide critical public feedback to the City. In addition to monthly meetings, the Parks and Recreation Commission assists in several Department programs and special events throughout the year. The Commission helps create and update the Parks and Recreation Master Plan, and advise on the athletic programs.
Appointed RAMP Advisory Commission Members may serve up to three (3), two-year terms. Appointed Parks and Recreation Commission Members may serve up to three (3), three-year terms.
